Holistic Health Care focuses on patient education and patient participation in the healing process.  The condition of holistic health is defined as the unlimited and unimpeded free flow of life force energy through body, mind and spirit integrating conventional and alternative therapies. The underlying cause of your health concerns is first ascertained so that both entire body and mind can heal together.  Symptoms are often the calling card of other underlying causes.  Stress and environmental toxins can take a heavy toll on your health.  Optimal health is much more than the absence of sickness.  It is the conscious pursuit of the highest qualities of the physical, environmental, mental, emotional, spiritual, and social aspects of the human experience.

The mind and spirit have a huge impact on your overall health.  Each person is unique in their health concerns and is treated as a whole person, and not just a disease or a set of symptoms.  Prevention of disease with proper nutrition is of the utmost importance and education is incorporated so that you may learn to take control of your own health.  My practice is based in the Way of The Cherokee which teaches balance and harmony with yourself, with others, and with the earth.  Holistic Practitioners encourage you to evoke the healing power of love, hope, humor and enthusiasm, and to release the toxic symptoms of hostility, shame, greed, depression, and prolonged fear, anger and grief.

I first evaluate your nutritional status and incorporate easy ways to increase your nutritional intensity.  A single nutrient deficiency or chronic subdeficiency can lead to disease.  I do not recommend isolated vitamins in general - I only recommend whole food nutritional products.  We then may add herbs as food and as medicine.  Many herbs have wonderful properties of feeding the body and allowing you to heal without the powerful side of effects of pharmaceutical drugs.  Herbs have been used for thousands of years for food and improved health.  However, when herbs are used as medicine and not as food, they can also be powerful and may counteract with many medications.  I DO NOT recommend ever adding herbs as medicine unless under the guidance of a qualified practitioner.  As a Master Herbalist, I will evaluate the proper herbs for you and your condition with the correct dosage, usage, and healing properties.

Next simple stress reduction modalities that you can be taught and can easily implement into your daily life at home or at the office.  If you choose, we will work on modalities that can reduce or even eliminate your need for medications which will lower the toxin load and nutrient depletion on your body.

Holistic Health Care is a long term commitment you make to yourself. There are no magic bullets or pills that can make you healthy. It is a day by day series of choices in what you drink, what you eat, how you live your life, and how you grow your spirit. I would be honored to help you in achieving your goals.

Healer's Prayer*

Dear Lord, the Great Healer, I kneel before you since every perfect gift must come from You.  I pray, give skill to my hands, clear vision to my mind, kindness and meekness to my heart.  Give me singleness of purpose, strength to lift up a part of the burden on my suffering fellow men, and a true realization of the privilege that is mine. Take from my heart all guile and worldliness, that with the simple faith of a child, I may rely on You.
